The sale of DSL services is crucial to the long term plans of AT&T, as it can be used to get customers to purchase VOIP, and Cable TV.
Verizon sells their DSL services in Wal-mart too - they made deals with Wal-mart earlier in June. No problem for AT&T since their DSL service areas do not overlap.
No special prices will be offered, but gift cards for $25 and $75 will be given to customers purchasing the premium versions of their product.
Starting February 2007, Wal-mart employees will start stocking the DSL kits, and pushing the product to customers.
